Project management spans the entire implementation lifecycle and is a broad term that entails management of resources, communication, risk, scope and budget. Project Management Institute (PMI) is a recognized standard which helps VSS deliver to a consistent methodology. VSS resources are PMI certified or training to complete their certification of the PMI standard.

The Project Management documents required during the lifecycle of an implementation project are defined below:

Project Plan – This defines the scope of work to be performed, project approach, communication protocols, team members and responsibilities.

Risk Management Plan – This document identifies risks to project completion and provides mitigation steps. It is used to monitor project risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Status Reports – This is used to communicate project status to management and team. It includes an update on major activities completed, issues identified and budget vs actuals.

Project Work Plan – This is the work breakdown structure  for the project, it includes  tasks, resources, timeline and milestones.

Other – Many other documents which may include readiness, project impact, change orders, and closing acceptance.
